Jennifer Lynn Lopez or J.Lo is an American actress, singer, songwriter, record producer, fashion designer, and television producer. She is also an owner of a well known Cuban restaurant Madre, Pasadena, California. She was born and raised in the Bronx, New York to Puerto Rican parents Guadalupe Rodriquez a teacher & David Lopez a computer Specialist. She gain her first regular high profile job as a "Fly Gil" dancer on the television comedy program In Living Color in 1990.
Lopez broke into the big screen in the 1995 drama My Family and then appeared opposite Wesley Snipes in the popular action film Money Train. She also played the lead role in the 1997 movie Selena and she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. She appeared in the movie Shall We Dance? with Richard Gere. This filmed grossed $170 million worldwide.
